Patented is an absorbent article comprising a liquid-permeable topsheet and a liquid-impermeable backsheet surrounding an absorbent body. The article has a front and rear portion and a crotch portion in between, and is provided with a pair of belt portions attached to the rear portion, which are fastened together around a wearer’s waist. The front portion is provided with attachment means to be attached to the belt portions so that the article will assume a pant shape. The belt portions form a part of waist portions of the pant, and, before use, are folded in an accordion-like shape to form a folded package, which is arranged in a pocket of the rear portion’s side edge and can be extended from the pocket and unfolded when the article is used, after which the belt portions may be fastened together.
